The Speedie Consulting Blog

Are you a Gooru?

Now my new site is finally live, I can get on a use some of the services I want to in order to promote my site and other services. One of the fun looking ones is Gooruze (Pronounced “Gurus”). Check out my page on Gooruze here: jhulott.gooruze.com.

It is really easy to upload content, import your RSS feeds, and generally use it to network and drive traffic. I’ll report back how I get on.

Create your own inbound links

One thing I thought about recently was using blogs to add inbound links to a website. One simple way is got go off to:

www.wordpress.com

www.typepad.com

www.blogger.com

www.livejournal.com

www.blogomonster.com

www.aeonity.com

and setup a free blog account . Then create posts and include keyword links back to your own site.

Now that is something that most people have tried with some success but I was thinking if there was another way. A thought I had was to build a blog on my own server using Wordpress (Get this at wordpress.org not .com).

Then create a robots.txt file to stop the site being scraped by ANY search engine.

Don’t worry bear with me.

Then you create posts as normal with links back to your main site.

Here’s the good part- well I think so.

Now you submit your full RSS Feed all over the place and use tools such as feedphp to add the full posts to different sites. In this way your articles are being syndicated and adding links back to your main site.

Places to submit your RSS feed:

www.google.com/ig

my.yahoo.com

my.msn.com

www.masternewmedia.org/rss/top55/

You can use the full feed option to pull in the content to other websites.

Good Luck!
