Seach Engine Optimisation or SEO as it is known are the techniques associated with getting your site content as high as possible in the natural search engine rankings on the major search engines.

 

The higher your site ranks for it's major keywords, the more traffic your site will receive and hopefully the more revenue it will generate.

 

SEO can be boiled down into 3 key areas:

 

1. The structure of your site - Making sure you have your keywords in the right places and make it easily readable by the major search engines.

 

2. The amount and quality of inbound links to your website - Links act as a votes and search engines do count these votes. Some votes count higher than others as links form certain sites are seen as more important.

 

3. The content on your site - adding refresh, keyword targetted content on a regular basis will give the search engines and the readers of your site what they want - Information.

 

So while we have shown SEO as a simple three part process, the different techniques available add links and the different forms of content available to add content, is where most website owners struggle.
