  • Podcasts / Audio
  • Images – Infographics / Photos

Content should be useful to the user and informative. Yes, you should look at keywords and making it Google friendly but don’t stress too much with this. It is more about adding relevant quality content that engages readers.

Once you have chosen the types of content you are going to add, then create a content plan for at least 6 months. Insurance content marketing is about consistency.

As well as creating content you need to share and place it on sites and platforms where your audience hang out. By creating your content plan and then looking to incorporate some kind of distribution activity, this will give your content much more chance of working hard for you.

  • social media – you can add links to your Facebook, or Twitter feed. You can then pay a small amount to have them boosted (advertised to relevant people). You can add links in relevant groups on Facebook or LinkedIn;
  • email – you can add links to your new content and send it out is a monthly newsletter;
  • video content – set up accounts at Vimeo or Youtube and upload the video there. Also don’t forget to include adding the video to Facebook;
  • image content – setup account at Pinterest or Instagram and add images there.

Summary

As you can see, there are lots of things you can do to not only add content, but also promote it. Building this in to your marketing plan will help you drive much more traffic to your site at a lower cost over the long term than simply buying it in via pay per click
